Outdoor corporate adventures at Donadea Forest Park
Less than 40 minutes from Dublin city centre, where ancient woodland canopy replaces the office ceiling and notifications fade into background noise. That is where your team will spend the next three hours.
Zipit Donadea is set within 240 hectares of historic Kildare woodland at Donadea Forest Park. High ropes circuits wind through mature oak, beech, and Scots pine trees, taking participants from low-level balance platforms to ziplines gliding through the tree canopy. Your team navigates the courses at their own pace—encouraging each other across swinging bridges, sharing a laugh over wobbling cargo nets, and completing a genuine physical challenge together instead of enduring another passive indoor workshop.
Your group spends up to three hours tackling obstacles designed to build trust, communication, and confidence. The format works seamlessly for corporate groups because it is genuinely engaging without leaving anyone behind.
Everyone finds their own level. The person who powers through the red circuit and the colleague who stays comfortably on the lower circuits both walk away having achieved something real together.
The location is ideally situated for companies based in Kildare, Dublin, Offaly, and Meath. You can easily leave the office at 9:00 am, arrive on site by 9:45 am, finish by 1:00 pm, and still have the afternoon for a team lunch or debrief at a local venue. Alternatively, book an afternoon session for a memorable half-day Friday outing.
Every corporate booking covers up to three hours on site. Here’s the breakdown.
Safety briefing and equipment (15 minutes)
Everyone gets fitted with a full harness. Our instructors (all ERCA-certified) explain how the continuous belay system works: you clip in at the start and stay clipped in until you’re back on the ground. No experience necessary. The briefing covers circuit rules, platform transitions, and what to do if someone needs assistance.
Circuit time (up to 3 hours)
Dependent what tickets you’ve purchased – you’ll have access to some of or all the High Ropes, Ziplines and Nets Courses. If you want the full Zipit Donadea experience, we’d recommend booking the Ultimate Access. 3 hours, all courses.
Nobody has to do anything they’re not comfortable with. The point is doing something physical together, not proving who’s bravest.
All equipment provided
Wear comfortable clothes you don’t mind getting dirty, and closed-toe shoes with good grip. Trainers are ideal. Harnesses are provided, and gloves are available to purchase on the day if you’d like them.
Most corporate team-building events feel forced. The exercises can feel artificial, the takeaways are theoretical, and everyone counts down the minutes until it finishes.
Zipit breaks that dynamic completely. When you are suspended in the trees trying to navigate a series of swinging logs, workplace hierarchies disappear. A junior team member coaches a department head across a gap. The quiet developer turns out to be fearless on the zip wires. The sales team—usually articulate and vocal—suddenly relies on collective moral support from the group.
After three hours, your colleagues share a authentic memory unlinked to KPIs, pitch decks, or email threads. They have interacted outside standard office roles and supported one another through a tangible physical activity. That shared victory reshapes workplace culture far more effectively than an indoor seminar.
There is also the refreshing benefit of being fully present in nature. Out in Donadea Forest Park, phones stay in pockets, screens are forgotten, and everyday workplace stress gives way to fresh air and immediate focus.
Address: Donadea Forest Park, Kildare
Getting there: Easily accessed via the M4 (Junction 7 Maynooth or Junction 8 Kilcock) or M7 (Junction 8 Naas). Just 15 minutes from Maynooth and Naas, 20 minutes from Leixlip and Celbridge, and under 40 minutes from Dublin West/M50. Ample car parking is available on site, with dedicated space for minibuses and coaches.
Session times: We run structured sessions throughout the day. Corporate groups typically opt for 10:00 am or 2:00 pm slots. Midweek bookings offer the quietest forest experience.
Duration: Allow 3 to 3.5 hours on site, covering check-in, safety briefing, circuit navigation, and wrap-up.
Group sizes: Minimum 10 people for a corporate booking. No maximum; we’ve hosted groups of 100+ by splitting across circuits and staggering start times. For groups over 30, we’ll work with you on logistics.
Weather: We operate in most weather conditions. The dense forest canopy offers natural shelter during light rain. In cases of severe weather warnings or extreme winds, sessions are rescheduled at no extra cost.
Food and amenities: Donadea Forest Park offers scenic walking trails around the historic lake and castle ruins. For pre/post-activity dining, we recommend Donadea Forest Café, which you’ll pass on the walk from the car park to our course.
Here’s how a 10am booking unfolds.
9:30am: Arrive at Donadea Forest Park. The car park is roughly 10 mins walk from our courses.
9:50am: Check in at the cabin. Check that waivers are signed and harnesses are fitted.
10:15am: Group safety briefing on the circuits and equipment.
10:30am: Onto the circuits. Dependent on the passes booked, you’ll have access to some or all of our Ropes, Ziplines and Nets courses.
1:00pm: Most people finishing up. Harnesses returned, group photo.
1:30pm: Head off back for lunch, or continue the day somewhere nearby.
Some groups extend the day with lunch at Donadea Forest Café before leaving. Some head to nearby Clane or Maynooth to continue the get-together.
Tech companies running quarterly offsites. Accountancy firms after busy season. Startups celebrating a funding round. Sales teams who’ve hit target. Finance teams who never get out of the office. HR departments who wanted to try something other than the usual options.
We’ve hosted teams from multinationals with offices in Grand Canal Dock and SMEs with ten employees in Sandyford. What they have in common: they wanted something active, something outdoors, and something that would actually be memorable.
New starter cohorts work well here. If you’ve got a group of recent hires who don’t know each other yet, three hours in the trees together accelerates that process faster than a month of coffee chats. Management teams benefit for similar reasons; it’s rare for senior people to do something genuinely challenging together outside the office.
“We had a fantastic time at Zipit during our team event. It was a very enjoyable experience, suitable for the majority of skill levels and ages. The instructors were clear and very helpful. I highly recommend it for a unique group or corporate outing.”

“Brilliant day out with the team. Even the people who were nervous at the start ended up loving it. Way better than the usual team building options.”
