Frequently Asked Questions

What dates are you open?

We are open every weekend from February – November and our midweek opening hours vary, usually in line with public and school holidays. The easiest way to see our public opening hours is to click “Book Now” and select your desired date. If you are booking a private group i.e. School Tour or Corporate Group, we can cater to you outside of our public opening hours. Please email your details to [email protected].

Is Zipit for children or adults?

It’s for both. Our courses are designed in a way to cater to everyone aged 7 years and older with more progressive circuits available to older and more capable participants. We get as many School Tours as we do groups of adults with everyone leaving satisfied!

Do children under 18 need a supervisor?

All children and teenagers under 18 must be supervised by an adult, either participating on the course or from the ground. Supervisors must also attend and listen to the safety briefing. Adults supervising more than one child must keep all children within their view at all times or risk unsupervised participants from being removed from the course.

How much does it cost?

Prices vary based on age and are cheaper if you pre-book online. See our pricing page for up to date pricing.

Do I need to pre-book to take part?

To guarantee a space on your desired date, we recommend pre-booking online. Walk up bookings must pay an additional fee of €3 per booking.

How many circuits can I do?

How many circuits you can do depends on your age and ability. Each of our courses has at least 5 circuits and you can see some of the elements you’ll be faced with on our circuits page.

How high is the course?

Our courses range from 1 to 20 metres up in the treetops. Our colour coded circuits start with green which is 1 metre off the ground and finish with red which reaches 20 metres off the ground.

Is there height or weight restrictions?

The maximum weight for our safety harnesses is 120kg and the maximum waist measurement is 110cm (43 inches). The maximum expansion of the leg loops, which you step into, and tighten around the top of the thigh, measures 70cm (27 inches). If you have any concerns, we advise that you visit a course prior to your booking and speak to a member of our team.

How long does the course take to complete?

Each participant has their harness for a maximum of 3 hours and your safety briefing is included in this time.

Are there any health restrictions?

If you’re concerned for your health prior to booking Zipit, we advise consulting your doctor to raise your concerns. We cannot allow any pregnant women participate in the course, due to the nature of the activity. Our safety system uses magnets, which may interfere with the operation of pacemakers and ICD’s, so we advise against booking if you have either.

Are there any weather restrictions?

We’re strong believers in there is no such thing as bad weather, only inappropriate clothing. If it’s raining, you might get wet, but that’s not going to stop you from having fun, is it? The tree canopy offers protection from the elements and we also sell ponchos at our cabins. We will only close our course in extreme weather conditions or red weather warnings.

Can we reschedule or cancel our booking?

Unfortunately, we do not offer any cancellations but we can offer rescheduling up to 48 hours in advance of your booking. Please read our cancellation policy for more details.

Do I need to sign a waiver?

Yes, everyone who is participating must complete a waiver form, which can be found at the bottom of your confirmation email. If you need to send this to other people in your booking you can forward the email to them. Each participating child or teenager (u18) must have their waiver signed by a parent, guardian or supervising adult (18+). Each participating adult (18+) must sign their own waiver.

What should I wear?

We advise you to wear something comfortable that you don’t mind getting a bit dirty. Comfortable shoes with good grip are best and avoid flip-flops or open toed shoes, sandals or Crocs. Gloves are mandatory – you can bring your own or you have the option to purchase a pair at our cabins. Long hair should be tied into a bun and body piercings and midriffs should be covered. Please apply insect repellent and/or sunscreen prior to your arrival at our course.

Is there parking at the course?

Yes, there is parking available at all sites. In Zipit Dublin, parking is free on-site. In Zipit Lough Key, there is a €5 charge for the car park upon leaving (contactless payment), which is a 5-minute walk from Zipit. In Zipit Cork, there is a €5 charge for the car park upon leaving (contactless payment).

Can I get food and drinks at the course?

We offer a variety of snacks and drinks at our cabins. There are cafes and restaurants close to all of our courses. For more information, visit the applicable guide to local area pages under each location.
