Lough Key Forest Park, in Ireland’s Hidden Heartlands. The only Zipit location in Connacht, and the obvious choice for anyone in Galway, Sligo, Mayo, or the Midlands.
The setting is different from the other three parks. Lough Key is a destination in its own right: 350 hectares of forest, walking trails, a visitor centre, and the lake itself. The Zipit circuits sit within the forest park, which means you can combine three hours in the trees with a full day exploring everything else.
Six circuits through the canopy and ziplines across forest clearings, all set within one of Ireland’s most beautiful forest parks. The wider Lough Key estate has walking trails, a visitor centre, and a lively campsite and caravan park, so there’s plenty to keep the whole group busy before and after the circuits.
Six circuits, colour-coded by difficulty: Green starts at just 1 metre off the ground, working up progressively through orange and white for those building their confidence. Blue and red are the full experience: up to 20 metres above the forest floor, with ziplines across the forest clearings.
Minimum age: 7 years old. No upper age limit.
Session length: 3 hours from safety briefing to finish.
On site: Picnic benches, drinks and snacks available. Toilets on site. The wider forest park has a café and visitor centre if you want to make a day of it.

Travel times:
Nearby: Boyle Abbey (10 minutes), Carrick-on-Shannon (15 minutes), Arigna Mining Experience (25 minutes). Plenty of options for before or after.
Families from Galway, Sligo, and Roscommon who want something active for the day. Birthday parties. Corporate team days for companies in the west. School tours from across Connacht and the Midlands.
The overnight angle works too. Groups from Dublin or Cork who want a proper destination experience rather than a half-day activity. Combine with accommodation in Boyle or Carrick-on-Shannon, and you’ve got a full weekend.
Lough Key is also popular with multi-generational groups: the forest park has enough variety that grandparents can walk the trails while everyone else does the circuits.
