Birthday Parties in Wicklow

The only ZipIt location with courses for children aged 3 and up

The Only Adventure Party Venue for Under-7s

Most adventure parks have a minimum age of 7. Djouce Park is different.

We have a dedicated junior low ropes course for children aged 3 and up, alongside the main circuits for older kids and adults. That means mixed-age parties actually work here: the 4-year-old can join in on the junior course while the 9-year-old tackles the higher circuits.

Minimum age: 3 years (junior course), 7 years (main circuits).

ZipIt Djouce Park sits in the Wicklow Mountains, about 45 minutes from Dublin. The setting is the most scenic of all our locations, with mountain views and ancient woodland. For families with younger children who’ve been told “wait until they’re older” at other venues, this is the answer.

The junior course uses the same harness system as the main circuits. Same sense of adventure, same feeling of accomplishment. Just closer to the ground and designed for smaller bodies.

What's Included in a Party Booking

Full session (3 hours)

Access to all six circuits, from beginner-friendly green to the advanced red course, within your allotted session time. Kids can repeat their favourite circuits or work their way through everything at their own pace.

Safety briefing (30 minutes)

Harness fitting and instruction for everyone. Kids pick it up quickly. Our instructors are used to working with birthday groups and keep the briefing engaging.

All equipment

Harnesses are provided for everyone. Gloves are available to purchase on the day. Just bring comfortable clothes and closed-toe shoes. Trainers are fine. No party shoes, sandals, or flip-flops.

Picnic area

Tables and benches for food, cake, and presents after the session. You bring everything; we provide the space. There’s a cabin on site selling drinks and snacks if you need extras.

Adults included

Parents, guardians, and accompanying adults are all welcome to take part. Standard adult pricing applies when booking.

Two Courses, One Party

The genius of Djouce Park for birthday parties is that different ages can participate simultaneously.

Junior ropes course (ages 3 to 6) for 1.29m or lower in height

Stays close to the ground. Same harness system as the high ropes course, so children feel like they’re doing the real thing. Rope bridges, balance beams, short ziplines. Challenging enough to be exciting, safe enough for the youngest participants.

High ropes course (ages 7+) for 1.3m or taller in height

Ziplines, cargo nets, climbing elements. The full experience for older children and adults.

Both courses run at the same time. Parents can split: one adult accompanies the younger children on the junior course while the other joins the older kids on the main circuits. Or one parent stays on the ground while everyone else climbs.

For parties with a wide age range (say, a 6-year-old with guests aged 4 to 10), Djouce Park is the only Zipit location where everyone can participate.

When Other Venues Say "Too Young"

Most outdoor adventure venues have minimum ages of 7 or 8. That’s frustrating for parents of 4, 5, and 6 year olds who would love the experience.

Djouce Park’s junior course fills that gap. Children as young as 3 can participate in a genuine high ropes experience, with harnesses, platforms, and challenges. They’re not watching from the ground or doing a watered-down activity. They’re climbing, balancing, and zip-lining alongside their older siblings and friends.

The course is designed for smaller bodies and shorter attention spans. Elements are spaced closer together. Heights stay low (under two metres). But the feeling of accomplishment is real. Children finish the junior course proud of themselves.

For birthday parties, this changes everything. The 4-year-old guest isn’t left out. The 5-year-old sibling doesn’t have to watch. Everyone participates.

Questions Parents Ask

Can a 3-year-old really do this?

Yes. The junior course is designed specifically for ages 3 to 6. They wear the same type of harness as everyone else and complete real challenges, just at lower heights and shorter distances.

What if my child gets scared?

They can stop any time. The junior course stays close to the ground, so a nervous child can always be helped down quickly. Instructors are experienced with young children.

What's the difference between the junior and high ropes course?

Height (junior stays under two metres; main goes up to twelve metres), element complexity, and distance between platforms. The junior course suits smaller bodies and shorter attention spans.

Is it worth the drive from Dublin?

If you have children under 7 who want to participate, yes. Tibradden (30 minutes from Dublin) has a minimum age of 7. Djouce (45 minutes) has the junior course for ages 3+.

Can older children do the high ropes course?

Yes. Children aged 7+ or 1.3m in height can do the main circuits while younger siblings do the junior course. Both run simultaneously.

Can adults do the junior course?

Parents cannot take part as you must be 1.29m or shorter to take part. However, parents can walk alongside their kids as they take part.

High Ropes for Ages 7+

Don’t let the focus on younger children mislead you. Djouce Park’s high ropes course is as challenging as our other locations. Heights up to twelve metres, ziplines spanning forest clearings.

Older children and teenagers will find plenty of challenge here. The setting makes it feel like a proper adventure.

For parties with a mix of ages, older children tackle the main circuits while younger ones do the junior course. Everyone participates. Nobody watches from the sidelines.
