Three hours in the forest. Ziplines through the trees. High ropes challenges that push kids just enough to make them proud of themselves. The kind of birthday party they’ll actually remember.
Zipit Tibradden Wood is 30 minutes from Dublin city centre, up in the Dublin Mountains. It’s the closest Zipit location for Dublin families and the most popular for birthday parties. The setting is real forest, not a warehouse with some equipment in it, which makes a difference to how the day feels.
The format is simple. Your group arrives, everyone gets fitted with harnesses, and then they spend two and a half hours working through six high ropes circuits. Rope bridges, cargo nets, balance beams, climbing walls, and ziplines that carry them across forest clearings. Circuits range from one metre off the ground to fifteen metres up. Everyone finds their level.
After the circuits, you’ve got picnic benches for food and cake. Bring whatever you want. Stay as long as you need. Head home with tired children and good photos.
Minimum age is 7. No upper limit. We’ve done 40th birthday parties here too.
Full session (3 hours)
Access to all six circuits, from beginner-friendly green to the advanced red course, within your allotted session time. Kids can repeat their favourite circuits or work their way through everything at their own pace.
Safety briefing (30 minutes)
Harness fitting and instruction for everyone. Kids pick it up quickly. Our instructors are used to working with birthday groups and keep the briefing engaging.
All equipment
Harnesses are provided for everyone. Gloves are available to purchase on the day. Just bring comfortable clothes and closed-toe shoes. Trainers are fine. No party shoes, sandals, or flip-flops.
Picnic area
Tables and benches for food, cake, and presents after the session. You bring everything; we provide the space. There’s a cabin on site selling drinks and snacks if you need extras.
Adults included
Parents, guardians, and accompanying adults are all welcome to take part. Standard adult pricing applies when booking.
Here’s what a typical 10am party looks like in practice.
9:40am: Arrive at Tibradden Wood. Park in the car park (free) and walk to the ZipIt cabin. Guests gather while you check in.
10:00am: Everyone gets fitted with harnesses. This takes about 15 minutes for a group of 10 to 12 kids.
10:15am: Group safety briefing. Our instructors explain the circuits, demonstrate the safety equipment, and answer questions. About 20 to 30 minutes depending on group size and age.
10:45am: Onto the circuits. Everyone starts on green, getting a feel for the course before progressing through the colour-coded circuits at their own pace. Some push on to the higher levels quickly. Others take their time and enjoy every element. Parents are welcome to follow them around or wait on the ground.
12:30pm: Most kids finishing up. Harnesses off. Everyone migrates to the picnic area.
12:45pm: Food, cake, presents, photos. Take as long as you need.
1:30pm onwards: Head home. Tired children. The best memories.
You can adjust timings to suit. Afternoon parties work just as well. The session length stays the same.
The usual options for kids’ birthday parties in Dublin are fine. Soft play centres do the job. Bowling works. Trampolines are popular. But they’re also the same options every year, and by age 9 or 10, kids have seen them all.
Zipit offers something different. It’s outdoors, which changes the energy. It’s genuinely challenging, which makes kids feel accomplished. And it’s memorable in a way that indoor venues rarely are.
The competitive element helps. Kids naturally race each other, compare circuits completed, time their zipline runs. There’s a sense of achievement that comes from conquering something physical, especially for kids who spend most of their time looking at screens.
Parents often tell us it’s the first birthday party their child has actually talked about afterwards. That’s the difference between entertainment and experience.
