Team Building Activities in Dublin

Outdoor corporate adventures at Tibradden Wood, 30 minutes from the city centre

Corporate Team Days in the Dublin Mountains

Thirty minutes from the city centre, up where the Dublin Mountains start and the phone signal fades. That’s where your team will spend the next three hours.

ZipIt Tibradden Wood sits in Coillte forest on the southern edge of Dublin. Five high ropes circuits wind through the pine trees, from platforms one metre off the ground to ziplines fifteen metres up in the canopy. Your team works through them at their own pace, helping each other across cargo nets, cheering when someone conquers a section they weren’t sure about, and finishing the day having actually done something together rather than just talked about doing something together.

Your team spends three hours working through circuits that range from one metre off the ground to twenty metres up in the canopy. Rope bridges, cargo nets, balance beams, climbing walls, and ziplines that cross forest clearings. The format works for corporate groups because it’s genuinely challenging without being exclusionary.

Everyone finds their level. The person who flies through the blue circuit and the person who sticks to green both come away having done something real.

The location works well for Dublin-based companies. You can leave the office at 9am, be on site by 9:30, finish by 1pm, and still have the afternoon for lunch or a debrief somewhere nearby. Or book a 2pm slot and make it a half-day Friday activity.

What Your Team Day Includes

Every corporate booking covers three hours on site. Here’s the breakdown.

Safety briefing and equipment (30 minutes)

Everyone gets fitted with a full harness and helmet. Our instructors (all ERCA-certified) explain how the continuous belay system works: you clip in at the start and stay clipped in until you’re back on the ground. No experience necessary. The briefing covers circuit rules, platform transitions, and what to do if someone needs assistance.

Circuit time (2.5 hours)

Five circuits, colour-coded from green (easiest) to red (hardest). Green stays about one metre off the ground. Red takes you 15 metres into the canopy with ziplines spanning entire clearings. Everyone starts in green or blue, gets comfortable, then works their way up as confidence builds.

Nobody has to do anything they’re not comfortable with. Some people spend three hours on the lower circuits. Others push straight for red. Both approaches work. The point is doing something physical together, not proving who’s bravest.

All equipment provided

Wear comfortable clothes you don’t mind getting dirty, and closed-toe shoes with good grip. Trainers are ideal. Harnesses are provided, and gloves are available to purchase on the day if you’d like them.

Why Teams Choose Treetops Over Meeting Rooms

Most corporate team building is awkward. The activities feel forced, the outcomes are vague, and everyone’s relieved when it’s over.

This is different. When you’re fifteen metres up a tree, trying to work out how to cross a wobbling cargo net, the office hierarchy disappears. The intern helps the director. The quiet person from accounts turns out to be fearless on the high ziplines. The sales team, always so confident in meetings, suddenly needs encouragement from everyone else.

Three hours later, your team has a shared experience that has nothing to do with spreadsheets or deadlines. They’ve seen each other outside the usual context. They’ve helped each other through something physical. That changes the dynamic back in the office in ways that a two-hour workshop never will.

There’s also the simple fact of being outdoors. No phones up there; most people leave them in the car anyway. No notifications. No emails. Just forest, and the task in front of you. For some teams, that alone is worth the trip.

Location, Parking, and Timing

Address: Tibradden Wood, Tibradden Road, Dublin 16

Getting there: Off the M50 at Junction 13 (Dundrum), then follow signs for Tibradden. About 30 minutes from Dublin city centre, 15 minutes from Dundrum, 20 minutes from Dun Laoghaire. Free parking on site with space for minibuses. Coach parking available with advance notice.

Session times: We run sessions throughout the day. Most corporate groups book 10am or 2pm slots. Weekdays are generally quieter than weekends.

Duration: Plan for 3 to 3.5 hours on site. That includes the safety briefing, circuit time, and time to regroup at the end.

Group sizes: Minimum 10 people for a corporate booking. No maximum; we’ve hosted groups of 100+ by splitting across circuits and staggering start times. For groups over 30, we’ll work with you on logistics.

Weather: We run in all conditions except in the case of extreme weather warnings, electrical storms, or high winds. The forest canopy provides good cover in rain. If we have to cancel, we’ll reschedule at no cost.

Food and drink: There’s no café on site. Picnic benches are available if you want to bring lunch. For groups wanting food, we can suggest options in Dundrum (15 mins) or Enniskerry (20 mins) for before or after.

A Typical Corporate Session

Here’s how a 10am booking unfolds.

9:40am: Arrive at ibradden Wood. The car park is right beside the Zipit area.

10:00am: Check in at the cabin. Check that waivers are signed and harnesses are fitted.

10:15am: Group safety briefing on the circuits and equipment.

10:45am: Onto the circuits. Everyone starts on green, getting a feel for the course before progressing through the colour-coded circuits at their own pace. Some push on quickly to the higher levels. Others take their time and enjoy the experience. Both are fine.

12:30pm: Most people finishing up. Harnesses returned, group photo.

1:00pm: Head off back for lunch, or continue the day somewhere nearby.

Some groups extend the day with lunch nearby. The Merry Ploughboy in Rathfarnham is 10 minutes away. Dundrum has plenty of options. Others head to Enniskerry or Powerscourt for a more scenic finish to the day.

The Companies We've Hosted

Tech companies running quarterly offsites. Accountancy firms after busy season. Startups celebrating a funding round. Sales teams who’ve hit target. Finance teams who never get out of the office. HR departments who wanted to try something other than the usual options.

We’ve hosted teams from multinationals with offices in Grand Canal Dock and SMEs with ten employees in Sandyford. What they have in common: they wanted something active, something outdoors, and something that would actually be memorable.

New starter cohorts work well here. If you’ve got a group of recent hires who don’t know each other yet, three hours in the trees together accelerates that process faster than a month of coffee chats. Management teams benefit for similar reasons; it’s rare for senior people to do something genuinely challenging together outside the office.

Common Questions About Corporate Team Days

What if someone in my team is afraid of heights?

Start on the green circuit. It’s one metre off the ground, roughly the height of a kitchen counter. Most people who are nervous at the start surprise themselves once they’re up there. But there’s no pressure. Anyone can stop at any point, and spectators are welcome to stay on the ground and cheer from below.

What fitness level do people need?

The lower circuits require balance and concentration, more so than strength. As you progress to the higher circuits, fitness and upper body strength become more of a factor. We welcome participants of all ages and fitness levels.

Can we bring alcohol?

No alcohol before or during the activity. Afterwards, you’re welcome to bring drinks to the picnic area. No glass bottles.

How far in advance should we book?

3 weeks is ideal for groups over 20. Smaller groups can sometimes book at shorter notice.

What's the cost?

Pricing depends on group size and session time. Contact us for a quote. Group discounts apply for 15+ people.

Can teams compete against each other?

Absolutely. Seeing who can complete all five circuits is a challenge in itself, and a natural way for teams to motivate each other throughout the day.

What about accessibility?

The circuits require climbing and balance, so they’re not suitable for people with significant mobility impairments. Spectators are welcome to stay on the ground. The forest floor is uneven, so wheelchair access to viewing areas is limited.
